Trip to the Magic Forest

We went with Josh and Jakob to the Magic Forest which is really the tall pine trees near the dall diamond in Tara- close to Krsta and Greg's house.

Josh has a littel chickadee that when pressed makes the sound of a real chickadee. It was not long until the little birds joined us and actually ate out of my hand. It was very exciting for the boys.

The case of the disappearing tooth

Josh is showing off the space for his new tooth. The old one disappeared last week around supper time and has not been seen since. I heard that a note to the tooth fairy explaing the circumstances of the loss resulted in sizeable recognition for this important event.

Just as cute as ever!!

So welcome to Sauble Beach!!! Posted by Picasa

More of Sauble

The snow had blown right over the top of the roof it appears but left this little space at the door. That would have been a handy thing if we had been staying in there!!
Not much on the roof of this little shed.
Check the snow piled up pn one of the little decorative lights. The one next to the green one.

From the front of the cottage looking down to the lake. You can see Dad'snowshoe footprints. Posted by Picasa

Visit to the Cottage Sauble Beach

This is the huge snowdrift in the lane way to the cottage. Taller than our heads! Quite amazing.

This is the kitchen window.

The lakeside view.

Beautiful view of the water. We have this one up as a screen saver and it is really lovely.

Will put a few more in another edition.
Love to you all

Still Snowing!

Well it cleared off overnight and today there has been another foot of snow. They say that Owen Sound has received close to 100 cm of snow already and there is no end in sight until after the weekend.

I actually love it becasue it is a great chance to stay at home and do stuff that normally gets put aside. I have got out some fabrics I have to make a quilt for Jakob with flannel and old jeans to make the patches of denim.

This morning I went to art at Reeses. Harriet Grace always drives becasue she is afraid of falling and finds her bag very heavy, As soon as we got there she was worried that she would not be able to get back in her driveway. The teacher was afraid she could not get back up the 10th Street East Hill. All in all the class was over early!

In this photo my car is there in fromt of the hedge. This photo is from yesterday but it looks about the same today only the snow is yet a little deeper.

Dad has been working on a piece to send to a publisher of a book who is writing about international travel/work. He feels like ti si a very good piece and may send it off to the person who is doing work with a school in Ethiopia.

We were invited to go with Sleeping Children Around the World to Togo. I really had to get the atlas out to look that one up. The trip was for June this year and we have declined becasue we are making plans to go to Nicaragua in August.

They are very interested for us to go there next year as it is a French speaking country. Just because they ask though does not mean that we are obliged to go so we will have to see what happens next year I guess. Seems better to think of trips to hot countries in the winter not in our beautiful summer months!

Keep in touch.

Apple Picking

Krista, Leslie, Josh and Jakob and the grandparents were picking apples last week. The day was beautiful and we got lots of delicious apples called Jona Gold.

I am wanting to try to post some photos on this site.

Let me know if you can see it.
